Everyone loves a classic! Our matcha sugar cookie recipe is a beautiful treat to enjoy alongside tea or use as a canvas for fun decorations.

12 Tbs butter, room temperature (1 1/2 sticks)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 3/4 cup flour
1 1/2 Tbs organic culinary matcha
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Sift together flour, matcha, baking powder, and salt.
Cream together butter and sugar in a standing mixer until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla to the mixer until combined.
On medium-low speed, gradually add dry ingredients to the mixer until incorporated. Roll dough into a ball and cover before chilling in the refrigerator for one hour.
Preheat oven to 350 F and line your cookie sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. Roll out dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into cookies using your favorite cookie cutter or cup!
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the first sign of lightly browned edges.
While cookies are cooling, prepare your favorite frosting or icing. Frost and eat all of the cookies!

4 Tbs butter, room temperature (1/2 stick)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1-2 Tbs milk or milk alternative
In a medium-sized bowl, combine butter and vanilla with a hand-held mixer (or in a standing mixer) on low speed. Continuing on low speed, gradually add powdered sugar. As you mix, add the milk to the frosting as needed.
