Your Trusted Source of Exceptional Uji Matcha & Heritage Japanese Teas

Exceptional Uji-direct Matcha & Heritage Japanese Teas

Mizuba Tea Co. is a woman-owned, family-run company that specializes in stone-milled Japanese matcha and heritage loose-leaf teas.

Our decades-long, close friendships with tea producers in Japan means they entrust Mizuba to showcase their wide range of exceptional, hard-to-find teas.

Most often, folks try tea from the grocery store because that’s the first place they think to buy tea. But there’s nothing like tasting a specialty tea that has shares its own story through depth, character, and multifaceted flavor!

So many of our customers exclaim that they didn’t know tea could taste so dynamic. That moment is truly special and exciting to witness.

What longstanding relationships mean to us

We work directly with tea producers in Japan, and our longstanding relationships allow us to source a range of exceptional teas. Our goal is to showcase the skill, dedication, and unparalleled craftsmanship of the artisans who grow these teas — and share the result of their hard work with each of you.

As the tea farms and producers entrust Mizuba Tea to steward the integrity and quality of their teas, we care first and foremost about being a conduit to share their knowledge about why these teas are so special. We’re especially inspired by the passion they have to make excellent tea year after year.

All Mizuba Matcha is Stone Milled

Stone-milling is becoming quite rare in matcha production. All Mizuba Matcha is still stone-milled (versus jet-milling).

Stone-milling imparts a depth and richness to the tea that is lacking with other techniques to powder matcha.

We prioritize continued support for traditional matcha production techniques so the heritage of it isn’t lost in the mass market demand.

The Nurtured Leaf Nurtures You

Each tea in our collection tells a story. The devotion the farmers put into crafting each tea results in an entire experience to be savor with each sip.At Mizuba we always strive to choose the right eco-conscious resources available to us both in Japan and here at our US headquarters.

About 97% of our tea catalog is officially organic certified, which is a relatively new movement in Japan. We’re very proud to have recently enabled one farmer to convert his entire tea fields from conventional to organic.

Explain the important role agriculture plays in society — eco-focus here, but bring it back to how producers in Japan put so much love and hard work into their teas and we get to experience and literally ingest that when we drink them.

What Our Customers Say

"I am obsessed with Organic Gyokuro. I have several bowls of this tea everyday. It is the highest quality and best green tea I have personally come across. I'm on my third order of 100g. I will keep buying it. Thank you Mizuba for making these beautiful leaves available. Highly recommend!"

By far the best matcha I've tasted! Yorokobi is by far the best matcha I personally tasted and I've tried quite a lot differnt varieties over the years. I love how sweet and smooth it is - it is definitely a matcha that should be enjoyed without milk. The flavour is so beautiful, it feels like having a treat! :) I also loved how thoughtful the Mizuba Team is when packing the product - everything from the matcha itself, through customer service and packing is 10/10!

I usually drink Mizuba at my local coffee shop. Decided to try their ceremonial grade matcha at home. So glad I did. The powder is smooth and bright green as it should be! Taste is even better. Highly recommend! Really enjoyed their informational YouTube video's on brewing that perfect cup of tea.
