How to Brew

Sift 1.5–2g of matcha into a warmed chawan. Add one splash of 165–175°F water, incorporate until smooth. Add the rest of your 1.5- 2 oz water and whisk briskly in a W-motion until a fine, even froth forms.
For koicha, use 4g with 1.5 oz of water and fold slowly for a thick, meditative bowl.

You'll have to discover the nuances of each tea by tasting them in the set! Our set includes guided tasting notes.

How to brew:

  • Warm your chawan tea bowl with hot water.
  • Place 1.5-2g (1 tsp) of  matcha into your chawan.
  • Add 1 ounce of 160ºF-175ºF water to the tea and make koicha (a thick paste).
  • Add about another 1.5-2 ounces of water.
  • Whisk with your chasen until the tea is fully aerated to make usucha.
  • Enjoy!

Stone Milled

All Mizuba matcha is stone milled in Japan. This time-intensive process leads to a depth of flavor not found in conventional teas.
