Mizuba Matcha Epsom Salt Scrub & Soak

Matcha Epsom Salt Scrub and Soak

After a recent 30 mile trail run, Mizuba’s founder, Lauren, knew she needed something seriously soothing to help her recover. While the most common way to enjoy matcha is to drink it, the awesome fact is that matcha is also a great supplement alongside many herbal-homecare recipes!

Thankfully, Lauren had Epsom salts at the ready – famous for helping ease tense, inflamed muscles! However, why stop at just Epsom salts, when you can make the mineral go a little further?

Epsom salts help replenish magnesium, which helps out 325 or so enzymes in your body. But we also added coconut oil for soft skin, and to help bind the scrub. The lemon juice and zest adds a bit of fresh, exfoliating zing, while the dried lavender adds more exfoliation, and an aromatherapy component. Last but not least, we added our sweet, culinary organic matcha for its awesome detoxifying, anti-inflammatory properties (thanks, chlorophyll!) Matcha’s concentration of antioxidants and polyphenols are a great aide in skin rejuvenation and protection.

Draw a warm bath to open your pores, and soak all this goodness in! We highly encourage an active, energetic lifestyle, and we’re so thankful that matcha helps keep our bodies healthy to run the race, throw the ball, or simply take a beautiful walk. Enjoy this soak and scrub post-activity to help you relax, recover, and get ready for your next adventure.
