Organic Japanese Roasted Hojicha with Yuzu – Bowcha
A bag of Mizuba Yuzu Hojicha Bowcha Japanese Tea
Low caffeine Japanese hojcha tea

Organic Yuzu Bowcha

CHF 9.00
Size50g

Relax with a warming, enriching cup of bowcha! Our elegant tea is made from the highest quality, noble tencha stems that are gently roasted and result in a deep, satisfyingly smokey cup. Our version blended with yuzu adds a delightful, zippy character sure to perk you up - but without the caffeine jolt. This low-caffeine brew is relaxing any time of day.

Aroma: a soft sweet tone, like yuzu marmalade or citrus blossom honey, paired with underlying earthiness – a grounding, toasted grain or barley scent.

Flavor profile: because it's made from stems, bocha is milder than hojicha made from leaves, with a more rounded, toasted character and zero bitterness. The tea is comforting, warming, and you'll enjoy the crisp, clean, slightly tangy and delicate sweetness that the yuzu oil adds to the tea.

Bocha is a stem tea like kukicha, but is a regional specialty from Kanazawa. Though the region does not produce a large volume of tea, it does have a long tradition of roasting tea stems after one man discovered how flavorful roasting tea could be! Drawing on a motivation to not waste, bocha and kukicha is a wonderful way to ensure all parts of the tea plant are used and enjoyed. Bocha producers are proud of the 'upcycled' nature of this tea!
