Organic Japanese Bocha Stem Tea
Bowcha - Japanese Roasted Kukicha
Bo Hojicha, or "bowcha" Japanese roasted green tea
Low caffeine Japanese hojcha tea

Organic Bowcha

CHF 9.00
Size50g

Relax with a warming, enriching cup of bowcha! Our elegant tea is made from the highest quality, noble tencha stems that are gently roasted and result in a deep, satisfyingly smoky cup.  This low-caffeine brew is ideal for soothing, post-dinner relaxation or any time you need a gentle sip.

Aroma: light cedar, sauna. Woodsey and wonderful.

Flavor profile: a super smooth, satisfying brew. While some hojicha can be quite roasty, the roast on bowcha is perfectly balanced and milder than standard hojicha, giving the tea a touch of nuttiness.

Ingredients: Organic green tea
Harvest: Spring
Region: Shizuoka, roasted in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture

Organic and Rainforest Alliance certified

Bocha is a stem tea like kukicha, but is a regional specialty from Kanazawa. Though the region does not produce a large volume of tea, it does have a long tradition of roasting tea stems after one man discovered how flavorful roasting tea could be! Drawing on a motivation to not waste, bocha and kukicha is a wonderful way to ensure all parts of the tea plant are used and enjoyed. Bocha producers are proud of the 'upcycled' nature of this tea!
