A Nourishing Matcha Latte Recipe - for Moms!

Ali picked ingredients specifically for women who struggle with inflammation and the stresses of life. Of course, this recipe is great for women of any age!

Weight gain, low energy, wrinkles, inflammation, joint pain, high cholesterol ... my mom was fighting it all as she was entering her 50's. She naturally turned to me for advice since I look at food as medicine. We shifted her diet away from conventional foods and heavy stimulants, towards a low-inflammatory, nutrient-dense way of eating. 
Not only her but numerous of my other clients were complaining of the same struggles, ones that tend to happen naturally to many women at this age! 
And so it was born, "Matcha for the Moms"! 
Matcha Green Tea Latte for Moms - perfect for energy and anti inflammation
A warm cup of matcha and cocoa 
Ingredients: 
1 tbsp raw cacao powder
1 tsp maca powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coconut butter
1 cup hot water (not boiling!)
Method:
Blend together with a hand-held frother, immersion blender, or all together in a blender!

About the ingredients: 

I wanted to create a drink that got women on their feet in the morning, giving them energy to start their day, boost their metabolism, enhance their mood without putting extra stress on their body or depleting them of nutrients. This drink is a great way to kick the jitters, tummy aches and headaches that coffee can bring while still keeping your morning routine of drinking something warm, grounding and comforting! 
Matcha (the magic) is packed with antioxidants, boosts the metabolism (and the body's ability to burn calories by 4x), naturally helps to detoxify the body, is rich in fiber and vitamins, enhances both mood and concentration and promotes more relaxed alertness.
Raw cacao powder is known as the superfood of all superfoods! It contains a variety of unique phytonutrients like sulfur and magnesium that helps with focus, alertness, mood enhancement and of course, brings the rich-chocolatey taste to the drink!
The maca brings the body back into hormonal balance, improves female sexual health and helps to balance estrogen levels. 
Turmeric naturally fights inflammation, boosts skin health and even has the power to reduce the growth of fat cells. 
Cinnamon's high antioxidant content also helps to relieve inflammation, steady out blood sugar levels, decreases cravings and naturally adds sweetness to the drink without sugar! 
Coconut butter (my favorite part) is a natural meltable oil extract from the cocoa bean. It's a healthy fat that can improve the immune system, regulate hormones and improve brain health - but really I add it for its creamy-deliciousness! 
Every component of this drink has a purpose and can do wonders for your health when blended together in a hot cup of water. Even if you're not a mama, you will certainly gain the same balancing benefits!
