Mizuba’s Favorite Matcha Smoothie

Mizuba’s Favorite Matcha Smoothie

April 04, 2014

This is Mizuba’s signature smoothie.

It's so good we were actually slightly hesitant in sharing it with you all.

But Mizuba stands for sharing what we cherish in life and this smoothie makes it in the upper half of that list.

It’s simple:
            Ingredients:
                        1 frozen banana
-or- for a creamier smoothie, a ½ cup of organic                                            greek yogurt
                                    -or- both
1 tbs. Mizuba Organic Culinary Matcha
                        1 handful fresh organic spinach
2 heaping tbs. carob powder (we love Bob’s Red Mill)
                    Handful walnut pieces
                        1 tbs. almond butter
5-6 dates, halved so the pits are removed
                        ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
                        A dash of cinnamon
½ tablespoon ground flax (did we mention we love Bob?)                         or chia seeds for more super nutrients
Oat milk – provides natural sweetness. However, we also                              love almond milk or actual organic cow milk
                       3-6 ice cubes
And last but not least – orange zest. About half an orange’s                          worth

Method
Layer every ingredient into a blender. Pour your milk of choice until it shows about an inch from the bottom of the blender. Pulverize. Pour into a stylish drinking vessel of your choice. Go ahead and enjoy it yourself, or dash off and deliver it to someone special for their lunch break – trust us, it’ll make their day. And the day after that when they ask for it again.
